BERGROHR GMBH SIEGEN

STEEL-PIPES FOR THE WORLD

All around the world steel pipes from BERGROHR prove their reliability in a large variety of applications. As drinking-water mains or as oil and gas pipelines they provide secure supply of our most valuable resources, for the benefit of present and future generations. They are also regularly used in civil engineering, as well as in hydraulic steelwork, fulfilling here as construction elements the most stringent static and dynamic requirements.

Drilling platforms are classic examples of application of BERGROHR offshore piping utilized as proven components for steel structure foundations in different constructional design. Numerous offshore applications are a strong reference which qualifies BERGROHR as a competent and reliable partner for steel structure foundations of offshore wind turbines.

INNOVATION FOR MORE THAN 100 YEARS

BERGROHR is among the most prominent world-wide enterprises in the steel-pipe industry. The history of this family enterprise, founded in 1896, is characterized by its constant readiness to make ever-new investments in innovative processes and techniques. Thus, in the year 1939, BERGROHR put into operation the first pre- stressed 12-meter 3-roll-bending machine. With it, the formerly, common 6-meter production length was doubled to 12 meters.

The advantages of electric welding in comparison with oxyacetylene welding were also realised early and according put to use. The most recent evidence of BERGROHR  innovation strength: introduction of 12-meter Longitudinally Welded Double Seam pipe, presently the most economical solution for longitudinal seam-welding of steel pipes with large diameter from 64".

Likewise typical of the enterprise is a high degree of flexibility in production and planning, making possible economical manufacture especially of small and medium-sized production lots.

12 meters is the length of all pipes at BERGROHR - longitudinally welded by the submerged-arc process and in all suitable pipe materials, with high-temperature or high-tensile properties or with low-temperature toughness - in accordance with all known standards (API, ASTM, ISO, EN, DIN, BS, NFA). And production in compliance with special customer specifications is for us an everyday event.

BERGROHR specialises in the production of small amounts economically and just-in-time. Besides, our highly flexible three-roller bending process makes possible a very large range of available diameters and wall thicknesses, making the pipes suitable for the most diverse applications.
